Cancer Care Map
Cancer Care Map is an online resource to help people living with cancer find care and support services in their local area, anywhere in the UK.
Support with Finances
On average, a cancer diagnosis causes a £891 drop in income and concerns around finance we know is one of the top concerns for patients and thier familiies.
There are welfare benefit advisors at each of the local Cancer Support Centres that can help with not just welfare benefits but also employment, housing, debt and energy.
We have created a short video to provide you with some basic support and to share the services that we have across the region.
Sleep Support
Although most people will experience insomnia at some point in their lives, a cancer diagnosis and living with and beyond a cancer can cause insomnia. Potential reasons for this include;
- symptoms caused by the cancer (such as pain and sickness)
- side effects of treatment
- worry, anxiety or depression
Unsurprisingly, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, depression and pain were keen themes identified from the local PCA patient feedback and the Peninsula Cancer Alliance has been working hard to provide better resources to patients to help them to improve the quality of their sleep.
We have created some sleep videos in order to provide some support with insomnia.
