The Peninsula Cancer Alliance has moved Organisations.
From April 2024 the Cancer Alliance has moved from NHS England to be hosted by University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.
This does not change the alliances’ functions or levels of support across the South West, but moves us closer to the providers, commissioners and populations we serve. Our mission is unchanged – supporting collaborative work to improve cancer care and outcomes for patients, as part of the wider transformation agenda.
This is in line with similar moves across the country, regularising the position for all 21 cancer alliances as the new NHS England comes into being and separating the alliance role from that of the regions in assuring cancer services.
We do not expect this change in hosting arrangements to alter our way of working and hope that by being hosted at a more local level we will be able to continue our work for the population of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
