Our Cancer focused Community Outreach Fund is currently closed

The Cancer focused Community Outreach fund aims to support voluntary and community organisations in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to implement innovative engagement activities that increase awareness of signs and symptoms in our targeted cancer sights and increase the education and uptake of cancer screening. The funding is intended to address health inequalities in these communities and encourage innovative and targeted approaches to meet the need of our communities.

Any community group based in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and serving the population is eligible to apply for the funding as long as they can attribute the work to providing outcomes for the below focused areas.

The fund will be open from August 2025.

We expect to provide responses to bids within 14 working days.

Cancer Signs and Symptoms Awareness

We are looking for projects that will increase awareness in communities of signs and symptoms for any of the following cancer sites:

Lung
Skin
Cervical
Bowel

We would like these projects to be able to engage with specific groups and communities to reduce barriers so that people attend General Practice when they are presenting known cancer signs/symptoms.

We are looking for anything that can spread education, awareness and engagement. An example of this can be via printed communications, events in local settings and even organising opportunities for bringing scans and checks into an easier to reach local setting.

Cancer Screening Attendance

Improve cancer screening knowledge, coverage among specific Devon communities through activities such as screening workshops, outreach events and communications.

The projects can cover any of the below cancer screening programmes:

Breast
Cervical
Bowel
